About Chopta

Often referred to as the 'Mini Switzerland of India,' Chopta is a picturesque hamlet and a pristine, unspoiled natural destination. It is the base for the trek to the Tungnath Temple, the highest Shiva temple in the world, and further up to the Chandrashila Peak. The trek offers stunning 360-degree views of the Himalayan ranges, including prominent peaks like Nanda Devi and Trishul. The entire region is part of a wildlife sanctuary, and the lush meadows (bugyals) are perfect for camping. Chopta is an ideal destination for trekking, bird watching, and experiencing profound peace.
