Cherrapunji, locally known as Sohra, is famous for being one of the wettest places on Earth. This stunning destination is known for its dramatic landscapes, deep gorges, and breathtaking waterfalls, especially during the monsoon season. It is home to the famous living root bridges, which are natural marvels created by training the roots of rubber trees across rivers. The Double Decker Living Root Bridge in Nongriat is a spectacular example and a popular trekking destination. The area also has numerous caves, such as the Mawsmai Cave, which are open for exploration.
