Rameswaram is a holy island town, one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites, connected to the mainland by the iconic Pamban Bridge. It holds immense religious significance in Hinduism as it is believed to be the place from where Lord Rama built a bridge to Lanka. The Ramanathaswamy Temple is the main attraction, renowned for its magnificent corridors, the longest in the world, and its 22 holy water tanks (tirthas). The town is also known for the ghost town of Dhanushkodi, the southernmost tip of the island, offering stark and beautiful landscapes.
