The twin towns of Mathura and Vrindavan are the heart of the Braj Bhoomi region, revered as the birthplace and childhood home of Lord Krishna. These towns are among the most important pilgrimage sites for Hindus, filled with hundreds of temples dedicated to Krishna and Radha. Mathura is the site of the Krishna Janmasthan Temple Complex, believed to be the exact birthplace of the deity. Vrindavan is where Krishna is said to have spent his youth, and it is home to famous temples like the Banke Bihari Temple and the ISKCON temple. The air is thick with devotion, chants, and the sound of temple bells.
