Delhi
A precursor to the Taj Mahal, Humayun's Tomb is a spectacular example of early Mughal architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Built in the 16th century, it was the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent. The tomb is set in a beautiful charbagh garden, a four-quadrant garden with water channels. The magnificent mausoleum of red sandstone and white marble is a stunning blend of Persian and Indian architectural styles. Its grandeur, symmetry, and serene atmosphere make it one of the most beautiful and peaceful historical sites in Delhi.
