Dwarka is one of the four sacred Char Dham pilgrimage sites for Hindus and is considered the ancient kingdom of Lord Krishna. The city's spiritual heart is the magnificent Dwarkadhish Temple, a five-story architectural marvel supported by 72 pillars. Located on the westernmost tip of the Saurashtra peninsula, the city is steeped in mythology and history. Devotees take a holy dip in the Gomti River before visiting the temple. The nearby island of Bet Dwarka is also a significant pilgrimage site, believed to be the original residence of Lord Krishna.
