Gujarat
A UNESCO World Heritage site, this park is a concentration of largely unexcavated archaeological, historical, and living cultural heritage properties. The site includes prehistoric sites, a hill fortress of an early Hindu capital, and remains of the 16th-century capital of the state of Gujarat. The park's landscape is dotted with forts, palaces, religious buildings, residential precincts, and water-retaining installations. The Kalika Mata Temple on top of Pavagadh Hill is a major pilgrimage site, attracting large numbers of devotees throughout the year.
