Chilika Lake is the largest coastal lagoon in India and the second largest in the world. This brackish water lagoon is a paradise for bird-watchers, as it is home to a spectacular array of resident and migratory birds, including large flocks of flamingos during the winter. The lake's vast expanse is dotted with small islands, including the Kalijai Island with its revered temple. It is also one of the only two places in the world where the endangered Irrawaddy dolphins can be sighted. Boating in Chilika is a serene and captivating experience.

November to February (for migratory birds)
