About Nubra Valley

Accessible via the high-altitude Khardung La pass, Nubra Valley is a high-altitude cold desert that offers a unique and mesmerizing landscape. The valley is known for its stark, beautiful mountains, the confluence of the Shyok and Nubra rivers, and the famous sand dunes of Hunder. A key attraction is the double-humped Bactrian camels that roam the sand dunes, offering a unique safari experience. The valley is also home to the Diskit Monastery, which features a giant statue of Maitreya Buddha overlooking the valley.
