About Leh-Ladakh

Leh, the main town of Ladakh, is a high-altitude desert region known for its dramatic landscapes, crystal-clear skies, and rich Tibetan-Buddhist culture. Surrounded by the stark and beautiful mountains of the Himalayas, Ladakh offers an otherworldly experience. The region is dotted with ancient monasteries (gompas) perched on hilltops, such as Thiksey and Hemis. Leh itself is home to the Leh Palace and the Shanti Stupa. It is a hub for adventure activities like trekking, mountaineering, and famously, road trips on some of the world's highest motorable passes like Khardung La.
