Kalimpong is a serene hill station nestled in the Himalayan foothills, offering spectacular views of the Kanchenjunga range. It was once a bustling trade hub on the route to Tibet. The town is known for its peaceful atmosphere, beautiful colonial-era buildings, and numerous flower nurseries, especially for orchids. Key attractions include the Zang Dhok Palri Phodang monastery, which houses rare Tibetan Buddhist scriptures, and Deolo Hill, the highest point in town, which offers panoramic views. Kalimpong provides a quieter alternative to the more crowded Darjeeling.
