Gwalior is a historic city dominated by the magnificent Gwalior Fort, a massive hill fort that has been the stage for many important historical events. Often described as the 'Gibraltar of India,' the fort complex houses several palaces, temples, and water tanks, including the beautifully decorated Man Mandir Palace and the Saas-Bahu temples. The city is also the birthplace of the famous musician Tansen and is a major center for classical Indian music.
