Dharamshala, set against the backdrop of the majestic Dhauladhar mountain range, is best known as the home of the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government-in-exile. The upper part of the town, McLeod Ganj, is the heart of the Tibetan community, with a vibrant atmosphere filled with monasteries, temples, and schools. Visitors come to explore the Tsuglagkhang Complex (the Dalai Lama's temple), learn about Tibetan culture, and attend meditation and philosophy courses. The area is also a starting point for scenic treks, such as the popular Triund trek.
